Join the Cumberland Historical Society on Wednesday, April 28th at 6:30pm to hear the story of Frances Perkins!
Frances was the first Maine woman to serve as a member of a U.S. Cabinet and one who achieved historic gains as President Franklin Roosevelt’s U.S. Secretary of Labor. She was also responsible for getting unemployment insurance, Social Security, and a minimum wage enacted.
A book about Frances Perkins will be for sale at the program. Due to COVID restrictions, reservations and masks required. Contact Steve Moriarty, CHS Chair at 829-5095 to reserve your seat. You can also watch the live on Cumberland's YouTube Channel and on Channel 1301.
