Mission Statement


The mission of the Cumberland Fire Department is to provide our community with the highest quality of protection at medical, fire and natural disasters.

This shall be accomplished through a strong working relationship between the department, the community and local government. Effective fire and medical programs will enable us to prepare the citizens on how to deal with emergency situations. This interactive program, combined with financial support from local government, will allow us to manage these occurrences.

The officers and firefighter/EMTs of the Cumberland Fire Department shall stay current with the new changes in education, procedures, certifications and technologies that will enable us to handle emergency situations most effectively. Our extensive training program assures that we are prepared for situations that may arise.

The department shall retain a good working relationship with the departments of our neighboring communities. This allows reciprocating assistance in the form of staffing and equipment resources during times of need.

It is our promise that we will serve our community with honor and the highest level of professionalism possible at all times. We take our commitment to the Town of Cumberland very seriously and will make every effort to provide a reliable product that assists in mitigating emergencies.
