The Maine POM (Pet Oxygen Mask) Project will be holding a Pet First Aid & CPR Certification course on Sunday, February 16th from 10am-3pm at Cumberland Town Hall, with a short recess for lunch. Please bring your own lunch.
Do you know what to do if your pet has an emergency? If you are a pet owner, pet walker, pet sitter, pet groomer, doggie daycare employee, animal shelter employee/volunteer, ACO, FF/EMT, Police Officer, DART member, or just want to be prepared in case of a pet emergency, this course is for you.
Course topics include:
- Understanding basic pet owner responsibilities
- Administering medicine
- Managing breathing and cardiac emergencies
- Managing urgent care situations
- Treating wounds
- Treating electrical shock
- Caring for eye, foot, and ear injuries
- Preparing for disasters.
