Event Date:
Thursday, September 22, 2022 - 6:00pm

On March 31, 2022, Summit Natural Gas of Maine, Inc. (the Company) filed a petition for approval of an Alternative Rate Plan with the Maine Public Utilities Commission (the Commission).  That request is being reviewed by the Commission in Docket No. 2022-00025.  The Company’s proposed Alternative Rate Plan is for a period of seven years and would increase distribution rates by 30 percent in year 1, after which the Company proposes that it be authorized to increase rates up to 15 percent each year in years 2 through 7.

The Commission has scheduled two public-witness hearings in this matter:

1.         Thursday, September 22, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Town Hall, 290 Tuttle Road in Cumberland Center.

2.         Thursday, August 29, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Public Utilities Commission, 26 Katherine Drive, Hallowell.

The Commission will also provide notice of these public-witness hearings through a press release.

At the public-witness hearing, any member of the public who is not a party to this case will have the opportunity to present testimony or comments to the Commission on the issues in this proceeding. Sworn testimony, given under oath, is part of the official record of the case and the Commission can rely on it in making its final decision.

Unsworn testimony will not be a part of the official case record.
