Maine's Spring Wild Turkey Hunting Season

Between May 1st and June 5th, Maine's Spring Wild Turkey hunting season will be active.
In Cumberland, hunting is allowed at Greely Woods, Knight's Pond, and Rines Forest.
During the hunting season, we recommend that anyone who is walking in these areas strongly consider wearing blaze orange to help readily identify you when you are in the woods. Outfitting your dog with a blaze orange vest is also an excellent idea.
Please be aware that hunters may utilize a variety of turkey calls to try and lure a wild turkey to their location. It is never advisable to go toward the sound of a turkey call to investigate. Be safe when you are out enjoying our town parks!
