Council Corner - Val Halla Recreation Center

Monday, October 24th, the Town Council will discuss the purchase of the Val Halla Banquet Center. This space, attached to Rachel’s on the Green and the Val Halla Pro Shop, is currently owned by the Maine State Golf Association (MSGA), who purchased it from the Town back in 2011 for $515,000. The Banquet Center includes offices, conference room space and open area for gatherings. As the Town of Cumberland continues to grow, having this additional space will provide the needed room for an expanding town government to function and allow for further community space. The funds to pay for this purchase will come 100% from the Building Reserve Account, an account earmarked for the acquisition of property, resulting in zero tax impact to residents.
