Council Corner - Phase II Climate Action Plan

 

On Monday, May 9th, the Town Council will hear a report from the Lands & Conservation Commission (“LCC”) on Phase II of the Climate Action Plan. In 2019 the LCC formed a Climate Action Plan Subcommittee (“CAPS”) to expand on the work of the 2009 Cumberland Comprehensive Plan. This Subcommittee and the Town Council accepted Phase I of the CAPS work in 2021: to develop a goal and action plans for the Town and MSAD 51.

 

This newest report presents Phase II: to develop a goal and action plans for the Business and Household sectors. Where the first phase was focused on larger municipal goals, this second phase is looking at more personal responsibility for the reduction of Cumberland’s residential footprint.
