Council Corner - Capital Improvement Plans

This Monday, the Town Council will hear presentations from Chief Rumsey of Cumberland Police Department and Chief Small of Cumberland Fire Department, regarding their Capital Improvement Plans. These plans are for future needs and projects of the Police and Fire Departments. Normally, these capital improvement presentations are part of the budget process. They are discussed and included in future planning and budgeting as capital spending allows.

This is the first time that Town department heads will be presenting these plans in a Council meeting and highlighting them to the public. It is important to note, these are preliminary numbers, with no immediate action or budgetary implications. The Council will see presentations from all departments to learn their needs and goals. Each year these needs are evaluated and prioritized to meet the needs of the community. Please join us, or tune in, to learn more.

The Town Council would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the November 8th Election. Thank you to residents for coming out in unprecedented numbers to cast your ballots and staff and volunteer election workers for running a smooth election process. Finally, many thanks and congratulations to all those who ran for office. We appreciate the bravery it takes to throw in your name and the time and effort you put forth in service to Cumberland. Thank you for campaigns well run!
