Tuttle Road Project Update

r

Work will begin this spring to upgrade two culvert crossings and raise approximately 800 feet of Tuttle Road east of the Maine Central Railroad crossing near Crossing Brook Road. The road will be raised 3 to 4 feet and additional capacity will be added to two existing culvert crossings that have experienced frequent flooding during recent large rainfall events. Phase 1 of the project will begin in late April and include extension of a sidewalk from Town Hall to the railroad right of way.

Phase 2 will begin in late June and include the road reconstruction work. The road reconstruction starts approximately 300 feet east of the railroad right of way and extents 1000 feet east to 229 Tuttle Road at the Portland Water District pump station. Water main replacement will also take place through the road reconstruction section. Construction will occur in ½ mile increments so please be on the lookout for construction zones and traffic delays beginning in mid-May.
