Medical Cannabis Registered Caregiver Licensing

On Monday, January 24, 2022, the Town Council adopted Chapter 86 (Medical Cannabis Registered Caregiver Licensing) of the Cumberland Code, as recommended by the Ordinance Committee. After a six-month process, with comprehensive research into what surrounding communities are proposing and legal review, the Ordinance Committee recommended a focus on the licensure of Medical Cannabis Registered Caregivers. This ordinance requires all Medical Cannabis Registered Caregivers to become licensed with the Town of Cumberland.

Retail sales are still not permitted in Cumberland.

All Registered Caregivers operating within the Town of Cumberland on the effective date, shall submit licensing applications to the Town Clerk within ninety (90) days of the effective date. The Town Clerk, Jennifer Doten, can be reached at jdoten@cumberlandmaine.com.
