ADVERTISEMENT: NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
TOWN OF CUMBERLAND, MAINE

PROJECT: ROUTE 1 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
Sealed proposals, addressed to Mr. William R. Shane P.E., Town Manager, Town of Cumberland and endorsed on the outside of the envelope with the name of the Bidder and Project Name will be received until 3:00 PM (prevailing time) on Thursday January 26, 2017 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. There is a Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Cumberland Town Hall - Council Chambers.

PROJECT NAME: Route 1 Roadway Improvements

LOCATION: Route 1, Cumberland

OUTLINE OF WORK: The project includes the following major items.
1. Overlay of approximately 8,600 feet of roadway.
2. Construction of approximately 7,700 feet of turning lanes.

Bid Documents for the above named project will be available for review at the offices of Gorrill Palmer. Copies of the Bidding Documents will be available after 3:00 pm (prevailing time) on December 29, 2016 from the offices of Gorrill Palmer upon payment of $150.00 for each set. Such payment will not be refunded. Partial Sets will not be issued. Bidders requesting that the Bidding Documents be mailed shall include an additional non-refundable $15 for each set for shipping and handling. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier’s check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of $20,000 payable to Town of Cumberland as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder.

All work shall be governed by “State of Maine, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, Revision of November 2014", price $10 [$15 by mail], and Standard Details, Revision of November 2014, price $10 [$15 by mail].
