Middle Road Project Summary

The remainder of the Middle Road Improvement project is complete. Work began at Evergreen Lane in June and finished at the Falmouth Town Line the first of August. Work included complete replacement of the gravel base, installation of a new 12 inch ductile iron water main along with new services, a 4-inch natural gas main, installation of 4 inch underdrain piping, along with ditching and culvert placement at driveway entrances. Base pavement was placed from Evergreen Lane to the Falmouth Town Line at the end of July and clean up, loam, seed, and mulched followed a couple weeks later.
Storey Brothers is working on replacing the water main for Portland Water District in areas where the project began. Once they have completed the water main replacement the remainder of pavement will be placed on Middle Road, possibly during the beginning of October.
