On Tuesday, March 5th there will be a Presidential Primary and Municipal Referendum. Polls will be open from 7:00am - 8:00pm at Cumberland Town Hall.

The regular office hours of the Voter Registrar/Town Clerk’s Office, 290 Tuttle Road, are:
 
  • Monday-Wednesday 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Thursday 8:00am - 6:00pm

DON’T MISS THE DATE!  IMPORTANT INFORMATION
 
February 5 – Absentee Ballots are available.
February 14 - Closed Period Begins:  Only in person registrations will be accepted until Election Day
February 15 – Last day to withdraw or change enrollment in time to vote on Election Day. 
Voters changing their enrollment after this period will be within the 15 day Pending Period, and ineligible to vote in the Primary Election on March 5,2024. Voters enrolling in a party will need to stay in the party for 90 days before being eligible to change parties/unenroll.
February 19 – Town Office Closed
February 29 – Last day to Absentee vote without a special circumstance. 
 

Primary Information
 
Effective January 1, 2024, Maine will be transitioning from a closed primary system to a semi-open primary. Unenrolled voters will now be able to participate in primaries
 
What Primary Ballot are you Eligible to receive?
 
Unenrolled Voters :  May select either a Democratic or Republican Ballot
Democrat:  Must receive the Democratic Ballot
Republican:  Must receive the Republican Ballot
Green Independent, Libertarian or No Labels party:  No ballot selection. These parties are not participating in this Primary but can vote in the Municipal Referendum. 
 
When requesting your ballot - choose a party ballot! If you are enrolled in a party (see above) you will be sent the correct ballot. If you are unenrolled, you will be sent the ballot of your choice.
 

Can I just vote the local ballot? - YES. Contact the Clerk's office.

The last day to absentee vote without a special circumstance will be this Thursday, February 29, 2024

REMINDER: All absentee ballots MUST be returned by 8:00pm on Election Day. Simply drop your signed and sealed envelopes in the drop box in front of Town Hall!
