In August, officials from Cumberland, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Freeport, Brunswick, Cumberland County, and Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) met to discuss the possibility of a regional approach to combating brown tail moths. These communities have worked together to schedule Regional Public Information Sessions on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 17th at 6-7:15pm (Falmouth Elementary School Cafeteria, 58 Woodville Road)
- Monday, October 29th at 6-7:15pm (Freeport Town Hall - Council Chambers, 30 Main Street)
These sessions will cover the identification of browntail moth caterpillars and overwintering webs, precautions residents in affected areas should take, pros & cons of various chemical applications, and a question & answer period.
