Prince Memorial Library will host Mary Lawrence, author of the Bianca Goddard mystery series, on Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Set in Tudor London during the final years of Henry VIII's reign, the Bianca Goddard mystery series follows Bianca, the daughter of an infamous alchemist, in her pursuit of science to create medicines to help the sick. Along the way, Bianca must deal with a most unhealthy dose of murder and mayhem. Lawrence's series is in its third installment with Death at St. Vedast, her latest in the series.
Mary Lawrence co-owns Rare Berry Farm with her partner David Sliman. They grow rare and forgotten fruit not always found in Maine and turn much of what their farm produces into small batch jams. When she's not writing, farming and making jam, she's drinking far too much coffee and spending time with her grandchildren.
The Author Talk is part of a monthly series featuring local authors who discuss their latest book, their inspiration and the writing process. Light refreshments will be served. Prince Memorial Library is located at 266 Main Street in Cumberland. For more information, contact the library at 829-2215.
