Music & Muffins: Junior Stevens

Christian "Junior" Stevens will perform at Prince Memorial Library's monthly concert series on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. Stevens' expertise has always been Irish Traditional Music, but he draws influence from a wide variety of cultural traditions, notably the rich accordion sounds of Québec and Cajun Louisiana.
Stevens first picked up the concertina and button accordion while growing up in Southern Maine. His true passion has always been for the richness of Traditional Music. While at university, studying jazz and classical piano, he'd sneak away with his squeezebox to immerse himself in Boston's thriving Irish session scene. A talented performer, he has been featured on many recordings and appears across the country as a member of the Maine-based trio, The Press Gang.
The performance is part of the monthly Music & Muffins series at Prince Memorial Library, 266 Main St., Cumberland. Free. Refreshments will be served. Call 829-2215 for more information.
