ADVERTISEMENT: NOTICE TO CONTACTORS
TOWN OF CUMBERLAND, MAINE

PROJECT: TUTTLE ROAD SIDEWALK EXTENSION AND ROAD RECONSTRUCTION

Sealed proposals for Tuttle Road Sidewalk Extension and Road Reconstruction shall be addressed to Mr. William R. Shane P.E., Town Manager, Town of Cumberland (Owner). The outside of the envelope shall have the name of the Bidder and Project Name. Proposals shall be received until 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. There is a mandatory Pre-bid Meeting at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Cumberland Town Hall – Council Chambers.

The Tuttle Road Sidewalk and Road Reconstruction project is 0.52 miles in length.  Work to include excavation, placing and grading of fill material, construction of gravel base, placement of pavements, installation of piping, placement of drainage structures, seeding and mulching, modifications of existing manholes, installation of a modular block retaining wall and installation of a replacement water main and related appurtenance, as detailed in the Scope of Work. 

Plans and specifications and other Contract documents may be obtained on or after Wednesday, January 11, 2017 for $100.00 at Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc., 4 Blanchard Road, Cumberland, ME 04021.  Please contact Dan Diffin, P.E. at (207) 829-5016 to request a set of contract and bidding documents.

All bids must be made upon the forms.  No bid bond is required.  The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price.

The “State of Maine, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, Revision of November 2014” will govern all work.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful Bidder, and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive or conditional Bids.  Discrepancies between words and figures will be resolved in favor of words.
