2008 Twilight League Schedule

ELIGIBILITY AND COST:

Member of Val Halla Golf Club (pay appropriate membership dues)

Member of Val Halla Golf Association ($30.00)

Join Ladies Twilight League ($20.00) (substitutes do not pay league dues)

Regular players must have a valid USGA handicap index.

Substitutes without a valid USGA Handicap will be assigned a temporary handicap by the Handicap Committee. 

FORMAT:

Team Play

Slotted by ability - play against similarly handicapped opponents

Match Play by hole adjusted by handicap if applicable

Earn 0 to 9 points per match.  Earn maximum 5 points for a forfeit or with a substitute

PLAY DATE AND TIME:

League play is Wednesday night. Tee-off times are 4:00PM - 5:45PM

Kick-off Dinner/Meeting  Val Halla Banquet Room - Wednesday, May 14 at 6:00 P.M.  

Sign up Sheet for Dinner will be posted on bulletin board. Meal cost is $15 per person.

League starts May 21, 2008 and ends July 30, 2008 (play-off date: August 6, 2008).

(No play 4th of July week).

Variations in play other than scheduled day / time is allowed if opponent is agreeable and match is completed within two weeks (one week prior or one week after scheduled match.)

WHO CAN SUBSTITUTE FOR YOU?

Choose a substitute from the Twilight League listing that has a handicap of 10 strokes more or less than your handicap.  Players with a 45 handicapmustget a substitute with a 45 handicap.   If you cannot arrange play or find a substitute, then you must forfeit the match.

BAD WEATHER:

Call the Pro Shop after 3:30 PM to see if Twilight Leagues has been canceled.  If canceled, play your match before the end of the half, or agree to match cards with your opponent the following week.

WINNERS AND PRIZES:

The winning team of the 1st half plays off with the winning team of the 2nd half to determine the 2008 Twilight League Winner and Runner-up.  The winning teams will receive prizes at the Association's Awards Ceremony in October.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR LADIES TWILIGHT LEAGUE:

Join Val Halla Golf Club, Val Halla Golf Association and the Ladies League using 2008 membership and Association Registration Form.  Play all associated fees or

Join Val Halla as a Twilight-League-Only member (association and league fees included in cost.)

(give application and payment to the Pro Shop or send to Gerry Nadeau, VH Association Treasurer, 101 Lufkin Road, North Yarmouth, ME 04097).  

Note:  Substitutes do not have to pay League Dues.

SIGN UP BY MAY 9. 2008 Teams will be drawn shortly thereafter.  If you miss the sign-up deadline, you can sign-up as a substitute.
