Putnam Smith is a storyteller and songwriter for the modern age, despite all signs to the contrary. He lives in a log cabin, plays his grandfather's banjo, and prints up jackets to his CDs on an antique letterpress. Putnam writes and performs on guitar, mandolin, fretless banjo, and piano, and he tours nationally throughout most of the year, coming back to Maine for the summer months. He'll perform his rootsy music on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. at Prince Memorial Library.

The performance is part of the monthly Music & Muffins series at Prince Memorial Library, 266 Main Street, Cumberland. Free. Refreshments will be served. Call 829-2215 for more information.
