Wine & Nine - Women's Golf Clinics

Brian Bickford, Val Halla Golf Course Head Golf Professional

Wine & Nine is a mid-week, after-work program targeted at "occasional women golfers." The goal of this program is to overcome barriers encountered by women who are not avid golfers; hone your skills through lessons and clinics; play golf with other occasional golfers; and network…all over a glass of wine!

This is a 5-week series on Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 8:00pm. Week 1 will be a lengthy orientation and discussion of barriers women face before arriving at the course; where to go once you arrive at the course; intimidation faced on the course; and what to do after a round of golf. We will discuss everything from making tee times to common rules of golf you need know. Week 2 is a short-game clinic on the putting green. Week 3 is a long-game clinic on the driving range. Week 4 & 5 we will split into groups and take our game onto the course. Each session will end with feedback, possible problems encountered and discussion over a glass of wine. This is meant to be fun, informative and an opportunity to meet other occasional golfers!

Session I: June 4^th - July 2^nd (Limit of 10) - Filled

Session II: July 9^th - August 6^th (Limit of 10) - Filled

Session III: June 12th - July 10th (Limit of 10) - Filled

If strong interest continues we may expand one of the nights (at a minimum start a waiting list)...we currently have 38 women in the three sessions! An outstanding response to a new program.

Location: Val Halla Golf Course

Fee: $75/session (Resident of Cumberland); $85/session (Non-Resident)

4/11/08	Session I is filled and there are a few spots open for Session II, however, we are added a 3rd session on Thursday nights. Please register for Session II or III by calling the Pro Shop. You can also email Brian at bbickford@cumberlandmaine.com .
