Route 88 Pedestrian Access Advisory Committee
| The Route 88 Pedestrian Access Advisory Committee was created by the Cumberland Town Council on June 25, 2007. The Committee's charge is to thoroughly research and examine possible improvements to Route 88 in Cumberland Foreside and to promote increased safety in the use of the right of way by pedestrians and bicyclists. The Committee should examine the feasibility of improvements such as sidewalks and paved shoulders. The Committee should coordinate its efforts with the State of Maine Department of Transportation. The Committee should examine all alternative sources of funding apart from the Town of Cumberland's annual operating budget. The Committee shall make recommendations to the Cumberland Town Council regarding improvements to Route 88 to enhance safety and access for pedestrians and bicyclists, and shall specifically evaluate the financial feasibility of all individual recommendations.
