HANDICAP COMMITTEE

The United States Golf Association GHIN Handicap System is the basis of fairness for our competitive tournament schedule. PEER REVIEW is the heart of the system. It is imperative that we all post all of our scores, high or low, and to help make sure our fellow competitors and teammates post theirs, high or low.

Scores with non-conforming clubs and/or balls are not acceptable for handicapping.

Players' Responsibilities:

  • Post all scores, home or away, in season, under the Rules of Golf, 9 or 18 holes. 
  • Preferably immediately after playing, but, scores may also be posted via the internet at www.ghin.com. You will need your GHIN number.
  • Save your away card as they have all the information needed.

Adjust your score using EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL as follows: 

Course Handicap

Maximum Score Per Hole

9 or less

2 over par

10-19

A score of 7

20-29

A score of 8

30-39

A score of 9

40 and above

A score of 10



 

 

 

 

Make sure (help) all players post all their scores.

Committee's' Responsibilities:

The Handicap Committee has the obligation to all of our members to ensure that the system works. We are required to review the posting of scores and make adjustments to handicaps to accurately reflect our players' abilities.

  • All questions regarding handicaps must be made in writing.
  • To post lists of handicap indexes, local numbers and course handicaps and revision dates. 
  • To transmit scores to the USGA. All scores must be posted by the next Monday at 6 PM.
  • Maintain a system for penalizing the non-posting of scores. Penalty scores will be a score equal to the lowest on the player's 20 score record and will be posted immediately (6 PM Mondays).
  • 18 hole "P" will be posted for 9 hole non-postings.
