Greens Committee Report
The Greens Committee provides input and advice to the Association's Executive Committee and to designated Val Halla staff on course conditions, repairs, capital improvements and operations as they impact course playability and member satisfaction. Meetings typically occur monthly and are open to association members and other interested parties. Generally, we work with and through Head Golf Pro Brian Bickford to address concerns and opportunities around course conditions.
2007 was a year of change for the Greens Committee. At the request of the Executive Committee, new members were added and the role of the committee restated. Operating within this redefined mandate, Committee members spent a number of meetings identifying playability priorities and providing feedback to course staff on suggested changes. Against a backdrop of more priorities than resources, we feel that the staff has done a great job with what they have. We particularly want to thank Brian and Course Superintendent Toby Young for their hard work and willingness to listen to the committee's feedback.
Looking to 2008: We're excited to see the reconstructed 10th hole come online, and see other recent improvements continue to mature. We'd also like to extend an open invitation to anyone with thoughts or concerns to attend our meetings. These are typically scheduled from month to month through the pro shop, and/or you can touch base with any committee member. And after this winter, we should all be readily available on the course!
